西瓜下来了,爽!西瓜皮下来了,更爽!

上个月天热风大干燥的难受想买个西瓜吃皮,到超市一看3元多一斤合澳币1元多一公斤,比悉尼超市卖的都贵(一般0.99/公斤)。26块多买了一个,旁边 有人说那是傻瓜,大概说的不是瓜而是我。昨天街边买了个挺大的才不到10块,但与悉尼周末的蔬果市场(不是超市)比还是贵了。周末睡个懒觉爬起来下午一点 左右开车(这是汽车非常多的实际意义用途的一种,没人用汽车去象征什么)到蔬果市场买就像白给似的,因为2点收市他们要再卖的话就要下周末了,哈。10公 斤的西瓜1块一个论个卖,合人民币3毛一斤。各种蔬果买一车拉回家也就2,30澳币,大冰箱一放玩命吃2周。西瓜我主要吃皮,把绿色的外皮切下来扔了再把 红色的瓤切下来扔给别人,专吃红白相间的皮,爽。记得小时候因为喜欢吃皮逮着西瓜就不啃绿了不罢休,那时也不知道那东东的营养价值高,只是觉得吃了肚子舒 服。当时有人提醒我说不能这样吃,说是影响’高干子弟‘的风度和派头什么的,我就拿了一块西瓜放在一边说我把这一整块全扔了来提高我们的风度和派头,其他 的我还是要吃皮,哈哈。当时去大观园卖食品的楼上喝可可也是这样,那时可可1毛5一杯,油茶2毛一杯。没人知道巧克力的原料就是可可。因为喜欢巧克力的苦 味,我就是喜欢晃荡晃荡把杯子底部黑呼呼‘苦渣子’喝了,当然这又肯定会影响‘高干子弟’形象了,我就说那我买一杯倒了来维护我们的‘尊严’吧,但‘苦渣 子’我还是要喝,哈哈。

哈哈,那帖子里提到的不只是‘高干子弟’和‘西瓜皮’啊,还有‘超市’,‘汽车’,‘可可’,‘巧克力’等等等等,不知小弟对哪个最在意?

‘購西瓜攻略’?小弟的中文阅读理解是非同一般啊,哈哈。我这几天就去北京了,回来打我手机看我在不在吧

看来从小就喜欢吃西瓜皮是瞎猫碰上死老鼠了, 那时哪知道西瓜皮里还有这么多好东东

Watermelons: A Natural Viagra? By. V.Iyengar, S. Kanchan, Dieticians, NV Saturday, March 01, 2008 A juicy red watermelon has often quenched the thirst of many a soul in summer. Now scientific evidence points to both the white rind and the red flesh of the watermelon having amazing levels of phyto-nutrients that provide not only health benefits to men but go way beyond just being ordinary thirst quenchers on a hot summer day. ...Though a large portion of the fruit, almost 92% of it is water, the remaining 8% is loaded with lycopene, a phyto chemical that protects your heart, prostrate and skin health. New research from United States Dept of Agricultural Research Service laboratory in Maryland have found that watermelons, particularly the deep red variety are found to have more lycopene than even tomatoes. While studies find that tomatoes need to be cooked to get the maximum absorption, raw watermelon appears to give the same lycopene boost. It was reported that a 180 gram (6.3 ounce) serving of watermelon is said to provide between 8 and 20 mg of lycopene, making it a rich source of the carotenoid which is even better when eaten at room temperature. (Best around 69.8°F/ 21°C temperature). Lycopene also found in foods like apricots, papaya, pink grape fruit, guavas and red berries is a powerful antioxidant that plays an important role in preventing cancers of the colon, prostrate and rectum, as well as preventing heart diseases and macular degeneration of the eye. With regards to men’s health and fertility comes the most exciting news yet: The Indian Association of Urologists (after conducting numerous research studies) states that lycopene has been found to enhance male fertility by improving both sperm concentration/count and motility. The white rind, just below the red pulp, is tasteless and normally gets discarded. Research has pointed out that it is important, in that it contains a non essential amino acid called Citrulline, which gets converted to Arginine within the body. Studies have shown that plasma levels of citrulline were highest in subjects who consumed six cups of watermelon juice per day. Arginine is used in the body’s urea cycle, as a detoxifier. With the help of the cells lining our blood vessels arginine converts ammonia to nitric oxide. Nitric oxide is not only a vasodilator (relaxes blood vessels and thereby lowers high blood pressure), but also prevents erectile dysfunction, thus providing a gentler, milder and more natural Viagra, a Viagra with fewer side effects. ** The other known benefits of Arginine are 1. Improve insulin sensitivity in obese type 2 diabetic patients with insulin resistance, 2. Normalizes blood sugar levels 3. Lowers blood pressure, 4. Warning, Viagra can affect men’s fertility - Studies have shown that use of Viagra made the sperms more active but they also destroyed the head (acrosome) thereby penetration and fertilization of egg could not take place. ____________________________________________________________ NUTRITIONVISTA RECIPE’S USING THE WHITE RIND OF A WATERMELON Tarbuz ki sabzi (Watermelon cooked as a vegetable) Ingredients • White rind of watermelon, cubed - 2 cups • Tomatoes, chopped 1 cup, • Onions 2 medium, sliced • Green chillies 1, slit • Ginger ½ inch knob, grated • Cumin seeds ½ tsp • Black pepper ¼ tsp • Red chilly powder ¼ tsp • Oil 1 tsp • Salt to taste • Coriander leaves/celery ¼ cup chopped Method • Heat the oil in a Wok/Kadai. • Splutter cumin seeds; add green chilly, ginger grated. • Add onion, Sauté till it becomes translucent • Add Tomatoes, salt, chilly powder and pepper powder, sauté well • Add Cubes of the white rind and ½ cup of water • Cover and cook for a few minutes • Garnish with coriander leaves or celery • Serve hot with roti’s or rice. _____________________________________ Tarbuz Panna (Refreshing, Tangy Watermelon Slushie) Ingredients: • 1 cup thick Tarbuz (watermelon) pulp • 1/2 cup water • ½ lime • Sugar or Salt and pepper to taste Method: • Put all the ingredients in a juicer and blend it well. • Serve it chilled in a tall glass with a celery stalk if required ____________________________________________________________________________ References: 1. 人家讲瓜皮讲了一大堆结果中文只剩一句了:"科学家发现西瓜皮内所含的这种物质比瓜瓤中要多。但是人们很少吃瓜皮,为此帕蒂尔的同事史蒂夫·金和哈尔·吉恩·邦正在培育瓜瓤中富含大量瓜氨酸的新品种。 "
